Not every project is a client relationship. This one was personal — and it's the reason we support Motor Neurone Disease Scotland.
A kitchen with a purpose.
Leuchie House is an East Lothian charity providing respite breaks for people with neurological conditions and their families. So, when the opportunity came to replace the kitchen at Doddie Weir House, it meant more to us than simply fitting another kitchen.
Ian pledged to lead the kitchen project himself, and over one weekend Barry, Ryan and Jamie installed the new kitchen at Doddie Weir House. It was something we were proud to do — using the skills we have to help create a place where families can spend time together and make memories.
A personal connection.
Since Gus lost his brother-in-law, Jock, to Motor Neurone Disease in 2018, MND Scotland has become a cause particularly close to Riddle & Coghill Interiors. Being able to do something practical for a place like Leuchie House therefore felt genuinely worthwhile.
Jock was a keen golfer, a passion he shared with both Ian and Gus. So, when a team from Riddle & Coghill Interiors won Scotland's national Business Golf Fours Championship in 2018, there was never really any question about where the £2,604 prize money should go. We donated it to MND Scotland in Jock's memory.
What began with a very personal loss has become something we are determined to continue supporting.
